| Comments from a few of our advertisers: |
| ....Buyers, not
lookers or be-backs, have delighted us with renditions of how positive our
one minute spots have fascinated them with our sincerity and friendliness
no matter how far away they lived. We used T. A. Anderson himself as our
announcer for each spot and after placing over twenty different one minute
conversations across the whole spectrum of seasonal Holiday and personal
promotions, we came to realize an exciting increase in sales and repairs.
TV, which was always far more costly; we paid through the nose for many
years; never produced like this radio station. Maybe it's like the old
days -- when the radio was more convenient to listen to while people were
working or puttering around the house. Many of our customers bragged about
hearing an ad in the wee hours of the morning.
This radio station brought
the buyers through the door with an intent to purchase an advertised
product!.... |
| ....As you
know, Bill's and my background is advertising and we have advertised
heavily in the Highlands-Cashiers Market since we opened our doors years
ago. We have used billboards, television, newspaper, the Highlands
Playhouse Playbill and other local and regional publications. However, the
medium that has nettled us the most response and the most revenue coming
from those responses is WHLC Radio. We could not be more pleased with the
bulk of our advertising dollars being spent on WHLC.... -Southern Hands, Nancy & Bill Aaron |
| Comments from a few of our listeners: |
| ...You tell me
by your music selections that life is indeed a beautiful opportunity! That
there can be calm in the busyness of living. It is your music that keeps
me coming back to your station, WHLC in Highlands and Cashiers... - Lynn from Anderson, SC |
| ...I do like
hearing the local weather forecast frequently and the time occasionally.
From listening to your advertisements, I hear about many of the shops and
restaurants in Highlands, places I want to visit. Because I have a little
background in advertising, I like to notice the creativity in how your ads
are put together, and how I think they will appeal to the public.
In a nutshell, WHLC Radio
is the best radio station I have been able to find on the dial. |
| ...I have
traveled back to Highlands every year, somehow, someway for the last few
years. Each time I drive, and for the most part, I bring someone with me
that doesn't really know much about Highlands except my enthusiastic
ramblings of its beauty. Without fail, when we reach the North
Carolina-Georgia border, I begin to search my radio dial for your station.
I listen for your voices...then I listen for friendly, familiar business
owners and their messages, at which time I start to look for their shops
along the way. All the while the music plays on as my spirits lift,
bringing me to my long awaited destination. As I make the mountain climb,
I fall in love with Highlands all over again and as I predicted, so do my
travel companions... -Jeanne of Longwood, FL |
| WHLC-FM Radio knows its audience! |
| The music
programmers at WHLC have conducted the industry's most definitive analysis
of the "Easy Listening" audience, through SRI International. Not
only is our music product produced for a specific demographic, it is
designed around the psychographics (values and lifestyles) of our
audience. This keeps WHLC's music right on target for today's most
profitable audience.
The approach we use to program our music on WHLC is very basic: We program this station to be "The Place to Relax" on the radio dial. An "Oasis" in a radio spectrum filled with music designed for much younger listeners than those aged 35-64! These are words and phrases our listeners use to describe us. On WHLC, you will hear music from the '60s to the '90s, plus some standards and show tunes. Artists like Barbara Streisand, John Tesh, Kenny Rogers, Elton John, James Taylor, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Natalie Cole, Anne Murray, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Harry Connick Jr. and Celine Dion. Each year, WHLC's music programmers add many new recordings to our "Easy Listening" format. Music that, in many cases, includes exclusive custom instrumentals available ONLY on WHLC-FM. The scheduling process used in WHLC's play list combines the recording industry's most popular vocal and instrumental artists. WHLC's music programmers commission highly competent, established research firms to test audience reaction to both the music and formatics used in "Easy Listening." You can have confidence that this music product is based on the combination of research, marketing, creative talent and comprehensive testing. The overwhelming response we're receiving in person and by mail, as well as our advertiser's results, indicates that we're right on target! Let WHLC-FM Radio give your advertising message the WINNING EDGE! |
